Michael E Melton – Break Down of Intellectual Property Rights

January 19, 2019 by Josh Leave a Comment

Do you know anything about intellectual property rights? The likelihood is that you do not but if you are running a business then this is something which you need to gain a greater understanding of. The rules and regulations around intellectual property rights can be very complex and also very confusing which is why you do not need be an expert, but you do need to have a basic level understanding of the fundamentals around these laws. We caught up with industry expert when it comes to intellectual property Michael E Melton, to find out why this it is important that you know about these laws, and what makes up the four corners of these rights.

Why It Is Important

The reason why it is vital that business owners have an understanding abut intellectual property laws is for reasons of protection. If a business were to infringe upon the rights of another, using something that they have created for the benefit of their business, there are some heavy consequences which may occur. In some cases this may be nothing more than a warning or a financial slap on the wrist, in other cases however the punishments can be far more severe and do great damage to your business.

Patent

A patent is one of the four cornerstones of intellectual property rights and this covers an idea, a product or a part which has been invented by someone that is entirely unique. Once someone invents something like this they can apply to have it patented which then gives them the sole rights and responsibilities in terms of permitting others to use, or reproduce their invention.

Copyright

Copyright seeks to protect the way in which an idea is presented and whilst the idea itself may not be entirely original, the way that it is presented can be. Copyright includes aspects such as written work for literature or film, architectural drawings, written computer code, music and software. If a piece i protected by copyright it cannot be used in the same way by anyone else.

Trademark

Trademark refers to signs, symbols, logos, smells, phrases and color schemes which are created by a company with the idea of using them to identify the company. For example the McDonald’s slogan ‘I’m loving it’ is a trademarked slogan which cannot be sued by anyone else.

Trade Secret

If information about processes, strategy, formula or devices is stolen from a business and used by another then this is considered to be against the Trade Secrets act, put in place to prevent this from occurring. A business will have to protect itself of course but if theft happens then they are covered.

Bonus – Unfair Competition

Unfair competition also falls within the intellectual property law and it prevents businesses from using foul play to gain an advantage over its competition. This could include practices such as trade defamation, copyright infringement, misrepresentation of an image or name or even false advertising.

What Trustify Do Differently

January 19, 2019 by Josh Leave a Comment

For many years the world of private investigation was a suspicious one, an industry which appeared to operate within the dark corners of this world and one which nobody really knew much about. This reputation, or at least its appearance not only put clients off using private investigators, but also caused a rise in the number of shysters who would use the role of a private investigator to perform sub-standard results in order to make money. Thankfully however Trustify is seeking to change all of that, a one-stop shop for all of your private investigation needs who are slowly but surely changing the face of this industry, and here is how.

Top Quality

In the past you wold never really know how good a private investigator was until you had worked with them, by which time it would of course be too late. Trutsify however seek to change that by pairing you up with the highest quality of private investigator. They can do this because of their strict vetting program which is carried out on every PI who wishes to work for the company. The result is high level private investigators like Jennifer Mellon and Danny Boice, leaders in their field. Trustify will always ensure that the very best PIs are working with them.

Cost

Another great problem with the shady dealings of many PIs over the course of history has been the way in which pricing is discussed, often loaded with hidden fees, complicated invoicing or unexpected charges for the client. Trustify completely changed the mould when they began business however and they pride themselves on a pricing structure which is both reasonable and transparent. Clients can be safe in the knowledge that the quote they are given is the price that they’ll pay.

Customer Support

Trustify offers comprehensive support for its clients and has a support desk which is always on hand to deal with any complaints or queries. Furthermore clients can leave a review about their private investigator which can then help future clients when it comes to finding out about the professionals who work for the company. In the past there would be no support system such as this which caused many clients of PIs to be left frustrated, those days are gone now that we have a structure like this in place which can solve any issues at great speed.

Specialist

In their efforts to provide the very best PI for the job, Trustify will very often look to pair clients up with PIs who have a speciality in the particular task that is being requested. Every PI can be considered a Jack of all trades but they do all have a certain speciality and that is why Trustify will look to get the right person for the job. This means minimal risk on the client’s behalf and for the PI it means that they can work within their specialism in order to do the job to the best of their ability.

Ranches For Sale and Granite Worktops, What Housing Features People Want

November 29, 2018 by Josh Leave a Comment

The housing market is an ever-changing landscape which must constantly adapt to what customers are looking for. For example recent surveys have found that more customers are looking for ranches for sale and large townhouses, more than ever before. There are always new customer trends and as each year passes we see those who plan to buy a home, on the lookout for new and exciting features of a property. So powerful are these trends that they actually have a large effect on the overall cost of different types of properties, which is why so many landlords and sellers will seek to include certain aspects within the home, to endear it more to those looking to buy. If you are trying to sell your home at the moment, here are some of the hottest features which customers are looking for.

Walk-In Closets

Modern homes have gained something of a reputation for offering very limited amount of storage space, as developers have leaned more towards more rooms in the property, as opposed to more storage space. Not only are buyers currently on the lookout for more space in general, walk-in closets have become one of the most sought after features within the property.

Low Emission Windows

Low emission windows use coated glass which greatly helps to control both infrared and ultra-violet light light, the two contributing factors to making furniture and flooring fade. Beyond this, low emission windows help to insulate the home better because they reflect the light waves back into the property, rather than allowing them to escape. If you plan to put these windows in so that your property becomes more sellable it makes sense to buy directly from a window manufacturer for the best prices.

Granite Worktops

Granite worktops in the kitchen are something which are highly sought after in today’s market and they are taking over from the cheaper, wooden worktops which were once so popular. Granite is highly durable and very attractive so installing them in your kitchen could very well be the difference between selling the place or not.

Built in Speakers

Now that we have so much more tech in our homes, cables can be very unsightly so anything to get rid of them or cover them is encouraged. One tech feature which is in high demand from buyers are built-in speakers which can be connected to gadgets and devices through a Bluetooth connection. Technology is a highly attractive feature so having the speakers in place, or at least having the infrastructure for speakers to be installed, could bump up how attractive your property is to a buyer.

Garages

The last 20 years has seen people ditch the garage in favor of a house extension and adding extra rooms, but this is no longer the case. In fact many new homeowners are snapping up homes which have one or two garages which they will use for storage and for parking the car. If you have been tempted to add a games room or an extra bedroom in your garage, it may be wise just to leave it as it is.

Botox Treatments in San Jose – Your Questions Asked

November 29, 2018 by Josh Leave a Comment

Last month I did something that I had been thinking about for a very long time, and decided to take advantage of one of the Botox treatments in San Jose. I have seen promotions here for a long time yet I was never sure if Botox was for me. I decided to take the plunge however and I have been very happy with the results! Of you have been considering Botox but you are still on the fence, I wanted to share my experience in the hope that it may help you to decide whether or not this is for you.

Does it Hurt?

When the Botox is administered it can hurt ever so slightly, in reality it is the needle which hurts as opposed to the Botox entering your skin. The injections take less than a second however so any pain will subside very quickly indeed. As soon as the injections are out of your skin, the area no longer hurts.

Instant?

I had thought that the effects of the Botox would be instant but they are not, in fact you won’t see the effects until around a week later. I like many thought that I had been burned when I walk ed out of the clinic to still see wrinkles, but this is just because the Botox hasn’t got to work just yet.

How Long Does It Last?

Assuming that you have a good skin care routine and that you don’t do anything to harm your skin, the effects of Botox can last for up to 6months before it is depleted. I cannot draw on my own experience here but friends of mine have said that their’s lasted for at least 4 months before they started to see lines and wrinkles reappearing.

How Often?

Once the Botox has worn off you can certainly go for more, the only downside with this is that the more Botox that you have, the more your body will get used to it and the less impact it will make. With this in mind it probably isn’t worth getting Botox every 7 months, but rather once a year or perhaps just when you know that you have an event on the horizon.

Where Does It Go?

When the Botox begins to wear off it has silly been absorbed by the skin and the flesh underneath it. The contents of Botox already appear naturally in the skin so you are not having a foreign agent injected. This means that after time the solution will simply begin to absorb into the skin, where it is treated the same as any other waste product.

Recommended?

I would certainly recommend having Botox injections if you have any areas of your face with mild lines and wrinkles which you would like to get rid of. The difference looks great and most importantly can help you to feel great and have that little bit of an extra spring in your step.

Resume Writers Advice On How To Nail That Job

November 29, 2018 by Josh Leave a Comment

If you are on the lookout for a job or if you are struggling to be a successful candidate when you apply for a job, it is important that you review how you are going about trying to get that job. Regardless of whether you are going for a high profile position or otherwise, you will likely be up against some stiff competition so you need to make sure that you are at the top of your game in order to become the successful candidate. To help you make sure that the next vacancy is yours, here are some tips which may help.

Looking

The first step is to make sure that you are looking in the right places to find the job in the first place. If you are checking a single job site then you are going to miss out on many vacancies. You need to cast your net wide here and make sure that you are looking on every job site available, as well as keeping an eye on social media for any available jobs.

Honesty

From the outset it is vital that you are honest, we spoke to some professional resume writers who told us that they always request honesty from their clients. Many people like to embellish their educational qualifications or their previous job history but with so many companies now carrying out extensive background checks, you will be found out. If this happens then you will not get the job because of your lack of integrity, so don’t lie at any stage.

Application

When filling out an application form you need to spend a great deal of time on it. Make sure that you have fully read what is required from you in filling out the form. Many times they want it filled out in black pen, or using only capital letter, and any multiple choice must be ticked not crossed. These small details are important as if you get them wrong, it says a lot about your attention to detail and you may be disregarded before they even know your name.

Interview

If you have managed to get to the interview stage then this is your time to shine, and you must be confident and very well prepared before your interview. You will not be given an interview if you are not a real contender so you should go in with your head held high. Research the company before the interview so that you can speak knowingly about them, and show that you have done your homework. Take your time with each question and think about what the interview is trying to find out, take a moment and then go ahead and sell yourself. Don’t let your confidence turn into arrogance, this is not something that an employer wants to see, talk about your successes, your lesser strengths, your experience and your desire to do well in this job.

Follow these tips and you will nail that job!

The Biggest Mistakes People Make After Car Accidents

November 26, 2018 by Josh Leave a Comment

A car accident is never something you’re anticipating. Whether you’re on the way to work, cruising around town with friends, or heading out of town for a business trip or vacation with the family, a wreck is the last thing on your mind. But they happen – and quite frequently at that.

Thousands of people are involved in accidents every year, with injuries ranging from minor scrapes and bruises to fatalities.

“In [the past] six-year span, 196,236 people died in auto accidents,” Aceable explains. “That’s more than the number of people who live in Salt Lake City, the capital of Utah. Imagine a whole city wiped out in six years. That’s crazy.”

Thankfully, most car accidents don’t end in fatalities. And if you do find yourself in the aftermath of a collision – whether minor or serious – it’s important that you know how to respond. In particular, you need to avoid making the following common mistakes:

  • Leaving the Scene of an Accident

Never under any circumstance should you leave the scene of a car accident without first consulting with the other parties involved and contacting the police.

“After any car accident causing injury or significant property damage, you are required by law to report the accident to police,” the Gruber Law Offices explain. “If police respond to the scene of a car crash, they will conduct a routine investigation and file a report. However, police may not respond to every crash, which puts reporting responsibility on the individuals involved in the accident.”

  • Admitting Fault

It doesn’t matter how clear-cut the accident was; it’s important that you avoid admitting fault to the other driver. And while you have to be honest with the police when filing a report, never give out superfluous details or admit to anything you’re unsure of.

It’s easy for your emotions and adrenaline to affect how you think. By not admitting fault, you’re simple imploring a protective strategy that ensures you have a chance to formulate your case outside of the heat of the moment.

  • Not Getting Immediate Medical Attention

After a car crash, many people want to pretend the incident didn’t occur. The last thing they want is for some drawn out, complicated process that’s expensive and time-consuming. This leads to the huge mistake of not getting medical attention.

“Even if you think you are fine, it may be difficult to tell the type of injuries that you have sustained,” Arrowhead Clinic writes. “When the body is in shock, you may not feel the pain until later. It is important to have your injuries diagnosed as soon as possible if you are going to be pursuing an auto injury claim.”

  • Accepting a Quick Settlement

If you’re the victim in a car accident, expect your insurance company to contact you with a settlement offer. They’ll use any number of tactics to gently pressure you into settling your case. But taking them up on the first offer is a huge mistake. It may only be worth 10 or 20 percent of the case’s real value.

Don’t ignore the insurance company when they call. Hear them out and take notes. You can use the numbers they provide as a starting point for your negotiations at a later date.

  • Not Contacting an Attorney

There’s a statute of limitations on car accident claims in every state. While you shouldn’t be hasty to accept a quick settlement, you also don’t want to make the mistake of waiting too long.

In the days and weeks after your accident, contact a car accident attorney to figure out whether you have a case. They can help you develop a plan and determine how much your case is worth.

Make Smart Choices

It’s difficult to think clearly in the aftermath of a car accident. You have a lot of emotions and sensations charging through your mind and body, which makes it challenging to make even simple decisions. However, you have to force yourself to slow down and be prudent.

Prudence in the face of trial is one of the hardest things to develop, but it’s a character trait that will serve you well in this moment, as well as the years to come.

Hawaii’s Best Water Sports Activities

August 14, 2018 by Josh Leave a Comment

As soon as you’ve booked your hawaii beach rentals and you’ve paid for your flights it will be time to decide what you’re going to do when you’re on vacation. If you’re a lover of water sports I can almost guarantee that you’ll have a vacation of a lifetime. This is because there are so many different water sporting activities in Hawaii that you may not know where to begin.

So, let’s take a look at some of the most popular watersports activities on offer in Hawaii:

Enjoy a Luxurious Excursion

If you would like to enjoy a luxury snorkelling vacation or a sunset excursion you need to head to Maui where you will find that there are many different types of excursions available. A company named Alii Nui offers some of the island’s finest excursions that include sunset sails, feasts, afternoon snorkels and much more.

You will have to make sure that you book in advance as these excursions tend to be quite busy, particularly during the summer months, but they are worth the wait. For example, the sunset sail excursion lasts for two hours and guests will be treated to a beautiful meal and exceptional service. You will also be met at the dock of your choice and given time to experience the sunset from a whole new perspective. If you are looking to do something particularly special when you’re in Hawaii, you need to book at least one excursion.

Try your Hand at a Spot of Surfing

If you’ve never tried a spot of surfing now is the time. Hawaii is home to some amazing waves which make the area ideal for those who love to surf. The islands are also home to yearly surfing competitions, which just goes to show you how great the waves are. So, why not let your inner surfer out and try your hand at a spot of surfing? You never know you may find you have a hidden talent!

Offering lessons to groups, small parties or individuals, you will be given one-on-one guidance so you know exactly how to balance on a surfboard while the instructors ensure you are kept safe at all times. Learn how to turn in the water and how to read the waves. Pick up a few navigation skills and learn all about your surfboard and where you should and shouldn’t stand. Surfing is a lot of fun so why not give it a try? Even the world’s best surfers needed lessons when they first started out, so what are you waiting for? Book a surfing lesson today and get ready to enjoy yourself.

Enjoy a Spot of Spearfishing

Spearfishing is so much fun and only a few vacation destinations in the world offer you the chance to enjoy this thrilling activity. Just before you head off into the deep blue sea you will be given a speargun, a camouflage wetsuit and a mask so you can free dive. You will also be given a snorkel and a weight belt along with some fins so you can move through the water with ease. You will also be shown how to use every piece of equipment so that you can enjoy a successful session in the water.

One of the great and occasionally unexpected things about spearfishing is that this activity can help to remove those invasive species from the waters. What this means is that you will be helping to contribute towards Hawaii’s sea life and ensuring that the local fish and reef population is as healthy as the locals would like it to be. With spearfishing available in Maui and Kona, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t have the chance to dive into the deep blue sea and enjoy this thrilling sport.

Go for a Scuba Dive

You simply cannot visit Hawaii without going for at least one scuba dive. There are many different water sports companies dotted around Hawaii that give you the opportunity to enjoy a lesson or two. If you’ve never scuba dived before do not worry, there are lessons available for beginners and you’ll be looked after by a professional. Operating 7 days a week, you could be taken out to sea on a catamaran by Rainbow Scuba Hawaii, for example, and shown exactly how to scuba dive. You’ll also have the chance to watch fish and other creatures go about their day.

Explore the nearby seabed for yourself, and stumble upon a shipwreck or two while you watch turtles swim here and there. You don’t have to be a scuba diving expert to enjoy a dive, so why not book you and your friends a place on a dive and get ready to have a lot of fun?

Hawaii has so much to offer everyone in terms of glorious weather, stunning beaches and of course, water sports. Why not enjoy a luxurious excursion on a boat and feast on a lovingly prepared meal? Try your hand at a spot of spearfishing and dive deep into the waters to catch a fish or two. Learn how to surf and find out how good you are on a board during your one on one session. Finally, go for a scuba dive and investigate Hawaii’s waters as you watch the turtles and other sea life go about their day. Hawaii offers so much to anyone and everyone, it’s no wonder lovers of water sports flock to the islands every year.

How Environment Affects Our Sleep

July 4, 2018 by Josh Leave a Comment

If you’re interested in discovering some of the ways which your environment will affect your quality of sleep, simply continue reading for tips from Top Alarm Clock in order to make effective changes, that are sure to increase your sleep quality!

How environment affects our sleep:

1. In order to enjoy a restful night’s sleep your bedroom needs to be the right temperature

Studies have shown that the optimal temperature which human beings need in order to enjoy a restful night’s sleep is a temperature between 60 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. As if your body is too hot or too cold, you’ll find it extremely difficult to get to sleep as your body will keep trying to regulate its temperature, instead of being able to drift off to sleep.

2. If light streams into your room, your body will also find it difficult to drift off to sleep

If you find that light streams into your bedroom in the mornings and that you tend to wake up as soon as light enters your bedroom, it’s well worth getting blackout curtains fitted as they will prevent any light from entering your bedroom, until you’re ready to wake up and get out of bed.

Why is light entering your bedroom such a problem? The simple answer is that the human body is designed to wake up at first light, so your body will naturally start to wake up as soon as first light enters your bedroom.

3. If your bed is uncomfortable, you’ll also find it hard to enjoy a peaceful, restful night’s sleep

In order to maximize your chances of being able to sleep for 7-9 hours per night, it’s well worth making sure that your bed is a comfortable place to spend 8 hours per night. If your bed isn’t comfortable and you often find yourself tossing and turning all night long and often struggle to get comfortable and fall asleep, you may want to consider purchasing a new mattress or a brand new memory foam mattress topper. Both of which will increase the quality of your sleep significantly and help you if you have any back pain or discomfort.

4. You need a quiet environment in order to get to sleep

In order to enjoy a peaceful night of uninterrupted sleep, it’s definitely worth making sure that you’re able to sleep in a calm, quiet environment. As human beings are designed to be alerted to noises at night and you’ll find it difficult to get to sleep and to stay asleep if you’re constantly alerted by loud, annoying noises.

If you live in an area where your neighbors often make a lot of noise, it’s definitely well worth investing in a high-quality pair of noise-canceling headphones. Which will make it far easier to enjoy a restful night’s sleep.

5. Having a TV or smartphone in your bedroom will make getting to sleep far harder

Electronic devices such as TVs, smartphones, and laptops are stimulants which will make it hard for your brain to wind down and fall asleep, so it’s well worth removing all electronic devices from your bedroom.

So if you want to increase your chances of enjoying peaceful, tranquil sleep, it’s well worth following the five tips listed above in order to make sure that your environment aids restful sleep.

Paleo And Spiralized Veggies

July 4, 2018 by Josh Leave a Comment

Whether you are a long time follower of a paleo diet or you’re interested in improving your diet by adopting a paleo diet, https://spiralizershq.com/ has some awesome tips for you. Simply continue reading to discover how adding spiralized vegetables to your paleo centered diet, can improve your health and wellbeing.

What is a paleo diet?

A paleo diet is full of foods which your ancestors would’ve eaten thousands of years ago. Typically modern day Paleo diets are rich in fruits, vegetables, lean meat, beans, and nuts and restrict highly processed foods such as junk food.

So if you’re interested in reaping the many benefits of following a healthy Paleo diet and are looking to encourage yourself to eat more vegetables, simply continue reading to discover why it’s well worth eating spiralized vegetables on a daily basis.

The benefits of eating spiralized vegetables as part of a nutritious Paleo focused diet:

1. You’ll be able to eat low-calorie versions of your favorite carbohydrate-rich foods

As an example, if you are a huge fan of pasta dishes which are delicious but are highly processed and should be limited or outright avoided on a Paleo diet, you’ll be able to create low calorie, low carbohydrate zucchini pasta instead. Better yet, as zucchini pasta, which is created by a spiralizer features few calories, you’ll be able to eat a full bowl of it without feeling guilty.

2. There are a wide variety of ways to serve up spiralized vegetables

There are countless ways to serve up healthy, spiralized vegetables. As an example, you may want to spiralize beetroot and carrot in order to take the presentation of your favorite salads to the next level. Or you may want to spiralize sweet potato as a side to serve alongside your favorite lean meat such as salmon, lean beef, steak or chicken breast. As while regular potatoes are generally not eaten as part of a Paleo diet, sweet potatoes can be eaten as part of a Paleo diet.

3. You can also spiralize vegetables as a garnish for your favorite soups

If you plan on following a Paleo diet, chances are that you’ll consume hearty soups on a regular basis. Especially during winter. However, if you find soup bland and tasteless you’ll be able to spiralize flavorful vegetables to place on the top of your soups. Which will add well-needed flavor to your soups.

4. You can spiralize vegetables in order to impress your dinner guests

You can also spiralize vegetables to place on your dinner guests’ plates, in order to add a pop of color to the meals which you serve.

What types of vegetables can be easily spiralized?

If you’re keen to add healthy spiralized vegetables to your Paleo diet and are need of a little inspiration you may want to experiment with spiralizing zucchini, eggplants, turnips, sweet potatoes, carrots, radishes, eggplant, and celery sticks.

So if you’ve chosen to follow a Paleo focused diet, in order to increase your energy levels and to lead a healthy lifestyle, it’s definitely worth using a spiralizer to consume more vegetables on a daily basis.

Top Tips for Student Internships Abroad

May 30, 2018 by Josh Leave a Comment

Completing student internships abroad is a fantastic way to really get the most out of your degree. Internships are often a requirement of the degree of self, teaching you to cope with the job load involved in your field of study. Completing those abroad allows you to not just put into practice all the things you learn but also to gain a more international experience in your particular field. Let’s take a look at some tips to get the most out of your student internship abroad.

Top Student Internships Abroad Tips

Study your particular niche. While you will have learnt quite a bit about your industry through your textbooks, there is far more to learn as well, particularly if you are to go abroad. Make sure you read any professional literature that exists for your niche and that reflects the country that you are interested in. Do also make sure that you follow all the relevant newspapers and news websites, checking each day weather there is a development in your chosen field.

Be searchable. Regardless of whether you wish to go on an internship abroad or in a local area, and regardless of whether you want to go on a paid or unpaid internship, businesses have to be able to find you. Because you are looking for a professional position, the most important thing you can do is have an up-to-date LinkedIn profile with as many professional endorsements as you can get. It is likely that you also have other social media accounts such as Facebook and Twitter, so you do have to check whether there is any compromising information on there, such as photographs of a drunken night out.

Be sociable. This is clearly connected to being searchable, but it essentially means that potential employer should not just be able to find you, they should also be able to communicate with you and learn from new about who you are and what you stand for. For instance, you could write a regular blog and welcome comments to which you should reply. This also sets you apart as an expert in your field, which is always a good credential to have.

Show gratitude. It is likely that you will be declined the opportunity to complete an internship abroad several times before you find one that accepts you. This is true wherever you are in the job market. When you are turned down, make sure you still sent the organisation a thank you note and express your gratitude. You never know, you might end up wanting to have a permanent job with that company upon completion of your degree.

Stop saying no. While we should all learn to say no more often and to be more assertive, if you want to be chosen for an internship abroad, you will have to go the extra mile and complete tasks that are outside of your job description. Obviously, there are limitations to this, but if you show yourself to be inflexible then you are unlikely to really benefit from the experience at all.
